The Alpen Group Ski Demo & Order Event is taking place in front of ALPS360 from 4/5 (Sat.) to 4/7 (Mon.). This morning, I ran into a group of three guests from China (pictured), who told me “We work as instructors for Chinese visitors to Japan. We’re hoping to buy some skis if we find a good pair.” Around 180 sets of skis from 18 different brands were available for testing, with about 130 people booked in advance today. (Note: the same event will also be held from 4/11 to 4/13.)

As of yesterday, 4/6 (Sun.), the two lifts on the Toomi Slope have finished running for the season, and from this point on, the operating lifts are limited to the Goryu Telecabin, Alps 1st Pair, Alps 3rd Pair, Line-8, Line-A・B, Line-C, and Line-E. Although the number of lifts has decreased, the number of slopes available for skiing remains unchanged! Additionally, you can still easily ski down to the base areas on both the Goryu and 47 sides.

Under pleasant, sunny skies, the Grand Prix Course offered excellent glide, with its soft, groomed granular snow surface. The Dynamic Course, Woody Course, and the descent course connecting to the Toomi Slope also had a soft, groomed granular snow surface. Meanwhile, the snow in the fields at the base of the resort is melting fast, gradually exposing more and more ground.

I ran into two residents of Hakuba Village (pictured) who told me, “We know Snownavi! We’re season pass holders and are enjoying carving turns on the Grand Prix course first thing this morning. We’ll be skiing full-on until Golden Week!” Since the descent course being so empty, I personally felt like making a few laps with the Telecabin this morning.
