Goryu47 REPORT

2025.04.09335 cm / Mostly Cloudy

The GORYU PARK, previously located on the Toomi Slope, has been relocated to the area alongside the Alps 1st Pair Lift and reopened as the “Alps-Daira Park” on 4/5 (Sat.)! I spoke with a park digger (pictured) who told me, “We’ll open the features in the upper and mid sections as soon as they’re ready. The kicker and jib items at the bottom are being prepped for a target opening around 10 a.m.”

Mogul lanes are starting to take shape on the Technical Course in preparation for the “WORLD MOGUL CAMP,” set to take place from 4/11 (Fri.) to 4/13 (Sun.). This special camp will feature Olympic champions Walter Wallberg (Beijing, gold), Mikaël Kingsbury (PyeongChang, gold), Ikuma Horishima (Beijing, bronze), and Nick Page, who ranked 3rd overall in the 2025 Moguls World Cup. The first day will be a training camp for athletes, pros, and coaches. The second and third days will feature lessons and talk shows for junior athletes and the general public, as well as a grassroots competition on the afternoon of the third day.

Early this morning, fog rolled in and out across the top of the resort, with constant thick fog lingering from the middle of the Grand Prix Course through the start of the Dynamic Course (pictured). The Panorama, Grand Prix, and Dynamic Courses were all groomed with slightly soft spring corn snow surfaces that offered smooth and comfortable turning conditions.

Below the clouds, the lower part of the ski area was warm enough to break a light sweat when moving. On the Woody Course and Toomi Slope (pictured), the groomed spring corn snow had become quite slushy, which made it a bit harder to pick up speed. That said, thanks to the abundant snowpack, there were no exposed patches of dirt or brush, and I was able to ski down to the Telecabin base station without issue.
