After wrapping up our Snownavi 2025 Winter Edition reports, we took a short break, but are back to officially kick off the Snownavi ‘25 Spring Edition today, 4/15 (Tue.)! With a base depth on the upper slopes measuring almost double that of the same time last year, we’ll be posting Happo reports roughly four times a week through the end of April. Around 8 a.m. this morning, light rain was falling on the Panorama Course (pictured), with no wind to speak of.

As time went on, the temperature began to drop, and by 8:30 a.m., the light rain falling on the Panorama Course had started to mix with snow. I met a skier from Aichi Prefecture (pictured, foreground), who told me, “I always follow your reports. I never expected it to snow today!” Wet snow was falling on the upper part of the Usagidaira Slope and on the Kurobishi Slope!

Previously, I had estimated that the lower part of Shirakaba area leading down to the base area might remain skiable until 4/20 (Sun.) due to the snow coverage at the time, but it actually ended up closing on 4/13 (Sun.). The Skyline Course also closed on the same day. Today, I spoke with a father from Australia (pictured, right) while riding the Kurobishi Quad, who commented, “We come from Australia. It’s a beautiful place!”

The Panorama Course featured comfortably soft, groomed granular snow that enabled smooth, quick turns. On Usagidaira and Kurobishi, the groomed areas were covered with 1 to 2 cm of fresh wet snow. Meanwhile, along the Alpen Quad, the Mogul National Team is currently holding a training camp from 4/14 (Mon.) to 4/20 (Sun.). Furthermore, a Mogul Camp open to the general public will also be held on 4/19 (Sat.) and 4/20 (Sun.)!
