At Alps-Daira, wet snow was falling along with strong winds blowing from the west. The Panorama Course (pictured) had a firm, groomed granular snow base, topped in patches with up to 5 cm of wet new snow. The feel of the turns changed slightly depending on whether there was fresh snow, so I kept my turns shallow to maintain speed.

The groomed Grand Prix Course (pictured) and Dynamic Course had a layer of 3 to 5 cm of wet new snow sitting on top of firm, granular snow bases. The further down I went, the heavier the snow became. The Woody Course featured a somewhat soft, groomed granular snow surface covered in about about 1 to 2 cm of heavy new snow.

The groomed Toomi Slope (pictured) had soft granular snow with some visible dirt on the surface, but the snow still offered good glide. There’s still plenty of snow coverage, and about two-thirds of the slope width was groomed, making for easy skiing. Light rain began falling at the base around 9:40 a.m.
