On 12/18 (Sun), Yamabiko A Course and B Course were open after the opening of Kogenashi on 12 17 (Sat), Yamabiko C Course and Uenotaira Area on 12/15 (Thu) just 2 days after the ski area was open! I checked the whole slopes today, however, I could not see the snow shortage except for the beginning part of D Course. The officially announced snow amount of “45cm” seems to be the actual amount.
[A Course, Yamabiko]
The snow quality in Yamabiko which has 2 quad lifts of 1,100m and 732m is very changeable depending on the courses especially in this early season. A Course was a good long course of natural snow which was nicely groomed and firm! I could not stop myself from skiing down that 1.3km slope.
[A Crouse, Yamabiko]
The slope of Yamabiko D Course (Photo) was firm, groomed and in a mixed snow condition of artificial and natural snow. There were bumps in the ungroomed upper part of B Course and the lower part was groomed as wide as 1 piste crawler. C Course was harder than C Course (=Hardest from D, C, B, A), but the edges of my skis worked well.
[D Course, Yamabiko Course]
Kogenashi Area was in good condition, nicely firm and groomed as well as Yamabiko A Course. JAPAN-DEMOSKI.com staff talked, “Today, we came for a test shooting for SAVREQ. We offer online lessons by using the movie on SAVREQ. Please come and join us!”
[B Course, Kogenashi]
