Merry Chiristmas! Although Paradise (Photo) was open on 12/18 (Sun), the snow increased not as much as we expected and the snow amount in the lower area was just 30cm in the last morning. After that, it was snowing heavily last night and now “Over Half of Areas” are open today on 12/25 (Sun). People who are staying at Madarao Kogen Hotel from Hyogo Pref. said, “We are happy to have such good snow thanks to the Christmas cold wave.”

An instructor of North Nagano Outdoor Sports (Left on Photo) said, “The snow is so fluffy!” One of the staff of AKI’S pub & cage (Yellow Clothes on Photo) also talked, “I always enjoy your reports! Our cafe is open from today! Have a good time at our cafe!” I also met a man who just came down from World Cup, which has over 60cm of soft snow layer, said, “It was amazing!”

Now, some restaurants including AKI’S pub & cafe, Heide (Photo), Shirakaba, Ak’s BURGER in Tyrol and West Valley. In the upper part of Giant, people from Kyoto said, “This is our first time to come to Madarao. There is so much fluffy snow here. We will go to the off-piste area in the upper part of Giant from now on!”

There was 20-25cm fresh snow on the soft bumps in the off-piste area in the upper part of Giant. The groomed soft slopes with 2cm fresh snow of the lower part of Giant (3rd Photo), Paradise (1st Photo) and the wide slope of Christal (Photo) were also in good condition. It stopped snowing this morning, but it started again at around 9:00 a.m. and got heavier at 10:00 a.m.
