Ichinose Diamond, Ichinose Yamanokami, Nishidateyama, Hoppo Bunadai, Okushiga Kogen, Sunvalley, and Maruike opened over Christmas, and Tannenomori became accessible, which means that Ichinose, Tannenomori, and Takamagahara are now connected. At Kumanoyu, the Third Quad opened on 12/25 (Sun.), meaning that the resort is now “fully open” with 80% or more of the terrain skiable!

In addition, night skiing will start on 12/24 (Sat.) on the Shirakaba (1st photo), First A, and Mogul courses (*18:00 – 21:00, open daily from 12/24 (Sun.) to 1/3 (Tue.) and on Saturdays thereafter until 3/31 (Fri.)) The annual torchlight run (participation limited to the first 100 arrivals, free of charge) will also be held from 23:30.

This morning, light snow was falling with intermittent strong winds from the north, and the fog that settled over the slopes was constantly thickening and thinning. The Shirakaba Course, First A Course, and Second Beginner Course (pictured) were in perfect powder snow condition, with a light layer of fresh snow on top of the moderately firm groomed surface! The wide, gentle slopes of the Second Beginner Course were being used by a number of groups for practice.

The Third A Course (pictured) is accessible from the right side of the top portion of the Umanose Course to the middle of the Third Rinkan Course. On the middle, ungroomed section of the Third A Course, the fresh snow that had continued up until yesterday was blown and compacted by the wind. The groomed last part of the course was easy to ski, with a moderately firm surface. The first part of the groomed Umanose Course was hard-packed, but from the middle portion on down, things softened up a little, and skiing became easier.
