Madarao Kogen Hotel which is located by the ski area is owned by the ski area and well known as a landmark. In the natural hot spring public bath, there are the indoor bath, outdoor bath (Photo), sauna and cold water bath. You can take it at JPY900 per adult and JPY600 per child from 6 to 12 years old for a day use. (It is in private use for a group. Please check the calendar).

It was snowing quietly this morning on the second day of 3 holidays. There are 6 parking areas in Madara. P1, 2, 3, 5 require parking fees (*JPY500 per day, P3 & P5 are for buses mainly) and P7, P8 are free and for day use. P7 is most recommended because it has great access to Shirakaba Course (Photo) as soon as it is open (The way back to P7 is Utopia or Shirakaba Course from Champion).

The groomed slopes of Shirakaba Course and Champione Course (Photo) were in great condition thanks to the pressed 5cm fresh snow. Most people who took Super Quad Lift which was open at 8:30 a.m. and came to this course. A man who took the same lift together said, “The snow is not enough in Tree Area. I will go to SAWA Area today.”

The ski area, especially in the base area, was getting crowded with people at 9:00 a.m. A skier from Aichi gave me the greeting, “I always enjoy your reports! I worried about the snow condition because it was falling wet snow in the village. However, the snow is so good in the ski area!” The snow falling this morning got weaker at 10:30 a.m. and we could see the sunlight through the breaks of clouds.
