Pinebeak has the FIS official courses, so ski competitions are held almost every weekend. Today, “The 11th Igaya Cup Grand Slalom Race” was held at 9:00 a.m. The participants were going up one after another by Omatsu No.1 Quad which was open at 7:00 a.m. and doing warm-up in Mt. Omatsu GO-no-hara Course (Photo) and Mt. Omatsu SAJ Official Champion.

Omatsu No.5 Pair was open at 7:00 a.m. By the way, the lifts in the early morning operation are also available for people who are not joining the competitions. The groomed slopes of Mt. Omatsu GO-no-hara Course and Mt. Omatsu SAJ Official Champion Course were firm well and that of Mt. Omatsu Family Course (Photo) was firm this morning.

The snow falling at nighttime stopped at 7:00 a.m. and there was sunlight sometimes after the ski area was open. We could enjoy smooth turns in the nicely firm groomed slopes of Omote Davos Panorama (4th Photo), Davos Heart Forest and Schneider Panorama (Photo) which was open on 12/24 (Sat).

A man from Gunma (Right on Photo) said, “I live in a town beside Karuizawa, so it takes just an hour to Sugadaira and come often here with my nephew and father.” Today was the second day of 3 holidays, so the slopes such as Omote Davos, Ura Davos and Ura Taro were very crowded with people at 9:00 a.m.
