HAPPO PARKS (“NATURES,” pictured), which had its pre-opening on 1/14 (Sat.), is scheduled to undergo a rebuild from 2/8 (Wed.) to 2/10 (Fri.), with re-opening event scheduled for 2/12 (Sun.). Today, like yesterday, was the type of calm, mild day that’s perfect for laps in the park.
[HAPPO PARKS]
The items inside the HAPPO PARKS area (pictured) were in tip-top shape, and the groomed slope itself was in excellent condition, with a reasonably firm, groomed powder snow surface. The Sakka Kitaone Quad was undergoing inspection and maintenance this morning but eventually started operating at 9:30 a.m.

The groomed center portion of the Skyline Course (pictured), which is located slightly higher up the mountain, also featured a moderately firm powder snow surface. The snow was hard packed on the Kitaone Traverse Cat Track and Sakka Wave (at the bottom of the Olympic Course II), but even still I was able to maintain edge control and link comfortable turns.
[Skyline Course]
The groomed slopes of Usagidaira (pictured) and along the Kurobishi 2 Quad were also in excellent condition with moderately firm powder snow surfaces! There too I was able to ski at a good speed while staying under control. There were some uneven spots and bumps formed on the snow in the areas along the Alpen Quad and Kurobishi 3 Pair.
