As the Goryu Telecabine got started this morning, the clouds that hung high in the overcast sky began to melt away, and the weather cleared up nicely. It was a great feeling to start the day skiing with views of Mt. Goryu and the three peaks of the Hakuba Sanzan (pictured). There was almost no wind this morning, and the temperature was much higher than yesterday, so it felt very comfortable.

The surfaces of the Grand Prix Course (pictured) and Panorama Course (first photo) were groomed incredibly evenly, and the snow was perfectly packed powder! My edges bit firmly into the surface and held to the snow like magnets to metal. It was also fantastic skiing on the Dynamic Course, with well-packed, groomed powder snow.

Starting at the entrance of the Woody Course, things transitioned to a moderately firm, groomed, wet snow surface that had a powdery feel, with very similar conditions on the Toomi Slope (pictured) as well. The groomed slopes were all very well-maintained, and the GORYU WAVES area along the Toomi 1st Pair was no exception.

The surfaces of the Powder Snow (pictured) and Soft Cream courses were firmly-groomed wet snow that once again had the feel of powder. In other news, some areas on the Iimori Slope will be restricted over the coming days due to the 43rd Annual Able Hakuba Goryu Student Demonstration Skiing Competition from 2/8 (Wed.) to 2/10 (Fri.), and the Able Hakuba Goryu Presents Ski Technical Contest 2023 on 2/11 (Sat.).
