JAPAN FREERIDE OPEN (JFO) has been started! Junior Category Event and Freeride Session with professional riders will be held today and Open Category Event and Special Judge Event will be held tomorrow. At 7:30 a.m, the base area was already crowded with the participants of JFO and people who came for the fresh snow this morning.

In the top area of the ski area, the frozen trees and thick fogs made a fantastic view. The children who would participate in Kid Ski Category (Photo) said, “I will do my best to win!”, “I’m so nervous.” and “I know Cortina well, so I can do it!”
[Mt. Hieda Rinkan Course]

I was surprised because there was a lot of fresh snow in Mt. Hieda Course 1 (Photo), althouth the snowfall last night was mainly in the south areas. In the beginning, there was 30cm of fresh snow and I could feel firm bumps under the fluffy snow in the lower part. The groomed slope of Mt. Hieda Rinkan Course was nicely firm, covered with 2cm fresh snow and in good condition.

The line of people in front of No.4 Pair (Photo) was still so long even though it appeared at 9:00 a.m. Ikenota was groomed and nicely firm. The groomed slope of Itadaira Course was nicely firm and covered with 15 wet fresh snow.
