HAPPO PARKS had its grand opening yesterday, and today the “MUGEN LINE” opening event starting at 9:00 a.m. The event was a session-style event that was free to join with no advance reservation required. Guest riders Keiji Okamoto (pictured, 7th from right) and Masateru Kitae (HACHI CREW member, 6th from) were also present.

Participants were offered a free Red Bull as a welcome drink. The event featured a relaxed atmosphere in which background music was played while participants dropped in at their own timing and rode lines of their choosing. Snow spraying from the banks and spines as riders playfully attacked the elements was a common sight.

For the grand opening, a new banked slalom area (pictured) was created on the top portion of the park on the side of Kitaone 3 Pair. The slope the course is built on was relatively gentle, which made it easy to try. Other items included two 8-meter kickers, a 6-meter kicker, three goofy banks, a regular bank, two rolls, two consecutive spines, a wave, and a backside hip.

HAPPO PARKS (pictured) and the groomed portion of the Skyline Course, which I skied earlier, were in very good condition with moderately firm powder snow surfaces! The hard, wet, groomed snow on the Kitaone forest road and Sakka Slope was beginning to soften up in the sunny areas.
