It was a warm morning with the sun shining gently through light clouds. I expected the weather to be just as mild as yesterday, but strong westerly winds were occasionally blowing around the Riesen Grat and Kurobishi Slope (pictured), and as forecasted, the weather went downhill in the afternoon. Hard, medium to large-sized moguls had formed along the Kurobishi 3 Pair, as seen in the background of the photo.

The groomed, wet snow surface along the Kurobishi Quad (pictured) was moderately firm; excellent conditions for repeating turns. I was greeted by an instructor from the Hakuba Happo-One Ski & Snowboard School, who proceeded to show off with an impressive display of skiing.

The southern route of Usagidaira (pictured) was well groomed with firm wet snow. Official training days for the ALL Japan Ski Technical Championships were held between 2/13 (Mon.) and 2/15 (Wed.) on the lower portin of the area alongside the Alpen Quad (pictured, background), and shallow tracks and undulations still lingered on the surface there. With it being the weekend, many visitors, including the skier pictured here (right) kindly called out to saying that they love the Snownavi site.

The elements and the slopes inside HAPPO PARKS (pictured) were in fantastic shape. The Skyline Course and Kitaone 3 Slope (pictured) were groomed, with both featuring moderately firm wet snow surfaces. The Kitaone cat track, Sakka Wave, and Shirakaba Slope had well packed, wet groomed snow.
