Today marked the third straight sunny day, and the occasional wind from the south made it feel pleasantly warm around the time the resort opened. And, like yesterday, the temperature rose sharply from the morning. With the clear skies, beautiful views of Mt. Amakazari and Mt. Hiuchi could be seen from the No. 4 Pair landing area, and many skiers could be seen stopping to take pictures with their smartphones.

I was able to link controlled, comfortable turns on the Hiedayama Rinkan Course (pictured, first photo) where the groomed granular snow surface was moderately packed. The ungroomed Hiedayama Course 1 had hardpacked tracks and moguls. On the Itadaira Course, which gets a lot of sunshine, the groomed granular surface was beginning to moisten and soften.

The Ipponmatsu Course (pictured) was the easiest course to ski today, with a moderately firm, groomed granular snow surface. The wide-open, groomed Ikenota Slope had a moderately soft surface composed of granular snow. Like Itadaira, the snow there began to soften up around 9:30 but remained easy to ski.

This weekend, on 3/5 (Sun.), there will be a First Track Experience exclusively available to overnight guests, where they can ski the Ikenota Slope by taking the No. 2 Quad up 15 minutes earlier than the usual start time. (*Free participation, limited to the first 10 people, reservation required). On the same day, the Kids Park will hold its annual Kids Event starting at 10:30 a.m. (*Participation fee ¥500 yen, free for Kids Park 1-Day Pass holders and snow rafting customers).
